Bullwaves and STARTRADER can both suit MetaTrader users, but their platform coverage, account structures and regional terms are not identical.
A practical comparison tests the same instruments and position sizes, then checks the current agreement for the entity that would hold the account.
The comparison below looks at daily platform use, account structure, total trading costs, market access, payments and the legal framework behind each account. The aim is to show where each setup fits, which trade-offs matter and what readers should verify for their own strategy and location.
For traders already using MetaTrader, the decision often comes down to how much platform breadth they need, how costs are presented and whether regional product or payment differences affect day-to-day use. A broker that suits one strategy may be less practical for another, even when both advertise similar headline features.
Broker comparisons often turn into a contest over who can publish the longest feature list. That is rarely how people trade. Most clients settle into one platform, a limited group of markets and one funding route. The better broker is usually the one whose real account conditions fit that routine.
There is no honest one-word best option in that table. STARTRADER has the broader platform selection and publishes a larger instrument menu. Bullwaves offers a simpler MT5-led path and puts its own emphasis on research and social features. The decision becomes clearer once we look at the account a trader can realistically open.
That distinction is particularly important here. A table that compares Bullwaves ECN with STARTRADER Prime ECN without flagging the USD 10,000 threshold would flatter the STARTRADER side of the cost comparison. A table that compares only the two standard accounts would ignore the options available to active, higher-balance clients. We therefore separate the platform, account and entity questions instead of collapsing them into a star rating.
At Bullwaves, we built our trading environment around MetaTrader 5. Clients can use MT5 on desktop, in a browser and on mobile. That gives an experienced MetaTrader user a consistent set of charts, order types and account information across devices. MT5 also supports Expert Advisors, custom indicators and strategy testing for traders who automate parts of their process.
Our choice has a clear limitation. We do not currently advertise MT4, cTrader or direct TradingView execution. A trader with years of MT4-specific indicators or an established MT4 Expert Advisor may not want to rebuild that workflow. We would rather state that openly than call an MT5-only offer universally superior.
Around MT5, we offer two tools that shape the Bullwaves experience. AI Insights brings together market data, sentiment, alerts and macroeconomic context. It can help organise research, but it does not predict the market or remove the need to assess a trade. Social Trading offers a route for following other strategies. Copying another trader can reproduce their losses as well as their gains, so risk settings and ongoing supervision remain essential.
STARTRADER gives clients more ways to reach the market. Its account pages list MT4, MT5, WebTrader and the STARTRADER app. The proprietary app supports account access, watchlists, market information, risk tools and funding functions, and the broker also promotes copy trading through its mobile ecosystem.
That flexibility is a genuine STARTRADER advantage. Someone who needs MT4 can rule out Bullwaves quickly. Someone who wants to manage funding and trading inside a broker-built app may also prefer STARTRADER's approach.
More platforms can create more variables, however. Symbols, server names, commissions and available functions may not be identical across MT4, MT5, WebTrader and the app. Before opening a live account, install the platform you would really use. Check whether your indicators work, confirm the contract specification for your instruments and test how orders and account statements appear. Do not assume that a feature shown at group level is available in every application and jurisdiction.
At Bullwaves, our public account menu has three tiers:
The word "from" matters. It refers to a minimum under particular market conditions, not the spread a client will see at every hour or on every symbol. Real trading cost also includes any commission, overnight financing, currency conversion and slippage.
STARTRADER presents Standard, ECN and Prime ECN accounts. Its Standard account publishes spreads from 1.3 pips. The regular ECN account is described as offering tighter pricing, but the current public account overview does not provide one simple commission amount that can be applied to every reader. That figure should be confirmed in the secure portal or current fee schedule before funding.
Prime ECN is more explicit. STARTRADER publishes spreads from 0.0 pips and commission as low as USD 4 per lot, alongside a USD 10,000 minimum balance requirement. The page also states that clients must meet activity conditions to maintain the status, including at least five closed trades in a continuous 30-day period within the previous 90 days.
This changes the comparison:
Suppose a trader buys and later sells one standard lot of EUR/USD. One pip on that position is commonly worth about USD 10, although the precise value can vary with the quote currency and account setup.
If the average spread at the moment of entry and exit were 1.3 pips, the spread component would be roughly USD 13. If a raw account displayed a 0.2-pip spread, the spread component would be about USD 2, but the trader would then need to add the full opening and closing commission. A commission described as "per lot" must also be checked to see whether it is charged per side or for the complete round trip.
This example is not a quote from either broker. It shows why two "from" figures cannot settle the decision. For a realistic comparison, record the live spread on the same symbol, at the same time and on the account tier you qualify for. Then add:
Compare the price you would actually trade: Review our live spreads and account conditions in the client area. Compare Bullwaves account types.
STARTRADER's account page currently advertises more than 50 FX pairs, more than 700 share CFDs, more than 10 commodities and more than 20 indices. That published breadth is a strong point, especially for a trader who wants to scan a large share-CFD list from the same account.
At Bullwaves, we provide forex and CFDs across several asset classes through MT5. Availability varies by entity, account and region. We do not think an aggregate instrument count should replace a symbol-level check.
For example, two brokers may both advertise gold, NASDAQ-related indices and a well-known US share. The underlying contract can still differ in:
If your strategy depends on a small set of markets, search for those symbols in both demos and open the contract specification. STARTRADER wins the public breadth comparison. The individual contract test can still produce a different answer for your own strategy.
This is the section where shortcuts cause the most confusion. A broker group can list several regulated companies, but a client does not receive every group's protection at once.
Bullwaves is a trading name of Equitex Capital Limited, authorised and regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under securities dealer licence SD185. ETX Services Limited is described on our website as an independent representative and distributor. It is not presented as an authorised EU investment firm. Eligible countries, leverage and client protections need to be assessed under the Equitex agreement and current legal documents.
STARTRADER's regulation page lists a wider corporate structure:
The group also lists a UAE Capital Market Authority Category 5 licence for introduction and promotion. That is not the same as a brokerage or execution licence. Its Cyprus company is described as facilitating services and payments rather than providing regulated trading products.
This gives STARTRADER a broader list of regulated entities than Bullwaves, but availability is the deciding factor. A trader registered with the Seychelles entity cannot claim the rules of the Australian entity simply because both logos appear on the corporate website.
STARTRADER also publicises membership of the Financial Commission and eligibility for compensation of up to EUR 20,000 in qualifying cases. The Financial Commission is an external dispute-resolution organisation, not a government regulator, and its criteria and exclusions apply. The broker separately markets excess-of-loss insurance underwritten through Lloyd's. That should not be interpreted as protection from ordinary trading losses or as a blanket guarantee for every account. A prospective client should read the policy terms, eligible entity, triggers and exclusions.
Before depositing with either broker, download the current client agreement and confirm:
At Bullwaves, cards, bank transfers and regional methods may be available depending on the client's country. Withdrawal requests are reviewed during working hours and may require completed identity and payment-method checks. The time taken for the funds to arrive then depends on the payment provider or bank. We do not describe an internal review time as a guaranteed arrival time.
STARTRADER lists bank wire, Visa, Mastercard, Sticpay, Perfect Money, Wise and other methods. Its funding page says bank-wire deposits and withdrawals generally take three to five working days. Its deposit and withdrawal policy says a valid request is generally processed within 24 hours after approval, with receipt expected in one to seven business days depending on the method.
There is one inconsistency worth flagging. STARTRADER's funding page gives an approximate USD 20 cost for international telegraphic transfers, while the policy page uses a USD 25 example. This may reflect correspondent-bank differences or an update made to one page before the other, but the public pages do not fully reconcile it. Ask support for the current amount applicable to your bank and currency.
For either broker, a sensible withdrawal test is to complete verification before depositing, use a payment method in your own name and make a modest withdrawal early in the relationship. Check whether funds must return to the original source, whether profits use a different route and whether open positions leave enough free margin for the request.
Bullwaves makes the most sense for a trader who wants a deliberately compact workflow. MT5 is the central platform, and AI Insights and Social Trading sit around that environment. There is less choice to navigate and less ambiguity about which platform the brand is built around.
We are also direct about what that model does not cover. If you require MT4 or a proprietary Bullwaves app, we are not the right answer today. If you want hundreds of published share CFDs, STARTRADER's current account page makes the stronger public claim.
The Bullwaves proposition is strongest when:
STARTRADER has three material advantages in this comparison. First, it supports both MT4 and MT5. Second, it has a proprietary app that combines trading and account functions. Third, it publishes a broad CFD range, especially in shares.
Its multi-entity structure may also offer a suitable local route for some clients, although the actual contracting entity must be confirmed. Higher-balance, active traders can examine Prime ECN, provided they meet the USD 10,000 balance and ongoing activity conditions.
The questions STARTRADER still needs to answer for an individual client are specific rather than theoretical:
Bullwaves is the clearer starting point. The platform is familiar, and AI Insights can help organise market context and alerts. The trader should still validate the signal or idea independently.
STARTRADER is the practical choice between these two brokers. Bullwaves does not currently offer MT4, so migrating would require the trader to adapt or rebuild the system for MT5.
STARTRADER Prime ECN deserves a live-cost test because of its published 0.0-pip minimum and commission from USD 4 per lot. Bullwaves ECN should be tested at the same times and sizes. Neither headline establishes execution quality, slippage or the final round-trip cost.
Ignore Prime ECN and compare the standard or regular ECN routes. Confirm the actual Bullwaves entry amount in the live portal because our public pages currently show both USD 100 and USD 250 references. STARTRADER publishes a USD 50 general entry point on product pages, but the amount for the selected method and entity still needs confirmation.
Bullwaves vs STARTRADER is not a case of one broker doing everything better. STARTRADER has the stronger platform range, the larger published instrument menu and more regulated companies listed at group level. Those are meaningful advantages, not footnotes.
At Bullwaves, our advantage is focus. We built the experience around MT5, then added AI-supported market context and a social-trading route. An eligible trader who wants that combination without switching among several platform families is likely to find Bullwaves more coherent.
We would choose Bullwaves for an MT5-first trader who values those integrated tools and is comfortable with the Seychelles-regulated entity. We would point an MT4-dependent trader, someone who specifically wants STARTRADER's app or a client seeking its larger share-CFD range toward a closer look at STARTRADER.
Whichever way you lean, open a demo where available, verify the contracting entity and compare the same instrument during the hours you trade. A broker choice should survive that practical test before it receives real money.
A comparison can date quickly. Before opening an account, check STARTRADER trading app page, Accounts, and Prime ECN. These pages should match the entity and account displayed during registration.
It depends on the workflow. Bullwaves is better aligned with an MT5-first trader who wants AI Insights and Social Trading. STARTRADER is stronger for platform choice because it supports MT4, MT5, WebTrader and a proprietary app.
There is no reliable answer from the minimum figures alone. Bullwaves publishes ECN spreads from 0.1 pips. STARTRADER publishes Prime ECN spreads from 0.0 pips, but that account has a USD 10,000 minimum balance and commission from USD 4 per lot. Compare the live spread plus round-trip commission on equivalent account tiers.
STARTRADER product pages publish a general entry point of USD 50. Bullwaves public pages currently contain USD 100 and USD 250 references, so clients should use the current onboarding portal as the source of truth. Payment-method minimums can also differ.
No. Bullwaves currently centres its platform offer on MT5 for desktop, web and mobile. STARTRADER supports both MT4 and MT5.
STARTRADER lists regulated entities in Australia, South Africa, Seychelles and Mauritius, while Bullwaves operates through Equitex Capital Limited under Seychelles FSA licence SD185. The relevant comparison is the one entity that can legally onboard you, not the total number of group licences.
Bullwaves is a trading name of Equitex Capital Limited (Registration No. 8434948-1), a company authorized and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (the "FSA", licence no. SD185) with legal registered address in CT House, office number 9A, Providence, Mahe, Seychelles and physical address in Office No. Al9C, Providence Complex, Providence, Mahe, Seychelles.
ETX Services Limited with company registration number HE455407, a company registered in Cyprus with registered address Archiepiskopou Makariou lll 160, 3026 Limassol is appointed as Independent Representative and Distributor.
