Bullwaves vs FP Markets Platforms and Pricing

Bullwaves and FP Markets offer different levels of platform breadth, so the comparison should begin with the tools the reader genuinely needs each day.

A fair test also uses the same instruments and trade sizes while checking current commissions, funding terms and the applicable legal entity.

The comparison below looks at daily platform use, account structure, total trading costs, market access, payments and the legal framework behind each account. The aim is to show where each setup fits, which trade-offs matter and what readers should verify for their own strategy and location.

For traders already using MetaTrader, the decision often comes down to how much platform breadth they need, how costs are presented and whether regional product or payment differences affect day-to-day use. A broker that suits one strategy may be less practical for another, even when both advertise similar headline features.

The decision becomes easier when you start with the platform

Imagine that your existing strategy depends on a custom cTrader indicator. Bullwaves cannot be the right operational choice today, even if you like our research tools, because we do not offer cTrader.

Now imagine that you trade only through MT5. You follow a compact watchlist, use Expert Advisors and want one environment across desktop, browser and mobile. In that case, FP Markets' additional platforms may be impressive without improving your daily routine.

That is the central trade-off:

The right broker is the one whose actual account supports the strategy. A long feature list cannot compensate for a missing platform, and a simple platform menu is not a weakness when it contains the only terminal a client wants to use.

What daily trading looks like at Bullwaves

At Bullwaves, we built around MetaTrader 5. The platform supports multi-timeframe charting, market and pending orders, Expert Advisors, custom indicators and strategy testing. Clients can move between desktop, browser and mobile while remaining in the same platform family.

We then add two Bullwaves services around that foundation. AI Insights organises market data, sentiment, alerts and macro events. Social Trading provides a route for following strategies. These tools can support a process, but they do not remove the need to check risk, sizing or the logic behind a trade.

The limitation is equally clear. A trader cannot bring an MT4-only Expert Advisor, connect directly through cTrader or execute from TradingView at Bullwaves. Converting an automated strategy from MQL4 to MQL5 may require development and testing. It should not be treated as a quick platform switch.

FP Markets offers a workstation rather than one terminal

FP Markets currently lists MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView, WebTrader, mobile applications and social-trading options. Some regional pages also describe Iress for share and DMA-style workflows.

That menu is useful for several distinct traders:

  • An MT4 user with mature MQL4 code;
  • An MT5 user who wants a familiar MetaTrader route;
  • A cTrader user who values its interface and automation environment;
  • A TradingView user who wants to chart and place trades from the same ecosystem;
  • A share-focused client whose available entity provides an Iress account.

The breadth requires more homework. Platform availability can depend on the legal entity and account. FP Markets' South African account page, for example, lists TradingView for Raw rather than Standard, while both accounts support MT4, MT5 and cTrader. The instrument menu can also change by platform.

A client should therefore avoid asking only, “Does FP Markets offer TradingView?” The better questions are:

  1. Does my eligible FP Markets entity offer it?
  2. Which account connects to it?
  3. Are the symbols I need available there?
  4. Is commission calculated in the same way as on MetaTrader?
  5. Can my existing strategy or indicator operate on that connection?

FP Markets wins the platform category, but the client still needs to identify the one route they will actually use.

Standard, Raw and ECN are pricing labels, not complete prices

Bullwaves offers Classic, VIP and ECN accounts. The minimum spreads currently published are:

  • Classic from 1.6 pips;
  • VIP from 0.8 pips;
  • ECN from 0.1 pips.

FP Markets' current regional account pages present Standard and Raw. The South African page reviewed publishes:

  • Standard from 1.0 pips with zero commission;
  • Raw from 0.0 pips with USD 3 commission per lot per side;
  • A USD 100 minimum deposit for both;
  • A minimum trade size of 0.01 lot;
  • Maximum leverage up to 1:500 for the entity and account shown.

Those are useful inputs, but they are not a universal FP Markets schedule. Another help-centre page currently refers to USD 3.50 per side and different opening balances for a China-facing route. That difference is a good example of why regional conditions must not be blended.

A worked EUR/USD comparison

For one standard lot of EUR/USD, one pip is approximately USD 10.

If FP Markets Raw displayed a 0.2-pip spread, the spread component would be about USD 2. Its published USD 3-per-side commission would add USD 6 for the round trip, producing an indicative USD 8 transaction cost before slippage and overnight funding.

If its Standard account displayed a 1.1-pip spread, the indicative spread cost would be about USD 11, with no separate FX commission under the published model.

For Bullwaves ECN, a displayed 0.2-pip spread would again represent about USD 2. The complete result cannot be calculated from the public spread alone because the current commission must be confirmed in the portal. We should not fill that gap with an assumption.

The exercise does not prove that either broker will display those exact spreads. It shows the correct calculation:

spread cost + entry commission + exit commission + overnight funding + conversion + slippage

A scalper may care most about the combination of average spread, commission and fill quality. A swing trader may find that several nights of financing matter more than a small difference at entry. A client trading share CFDs must inspect a different commission schedule entirely.

Use live numbers before choosing: Check the current Bullwaves ECN spread and commission in the dashboard, then compare the identical instrument and position size on the FP Markets account available to you. Explore our MT5 trading environment.

The deposit question is closer than it first appears

FP Markets publishes a USD 100 minimum for Standard and Raw on several current regional pages. Bullwaves public content currently contains both USD 100 and USD 250 references. Clients should therefore use the Bullwaves onboarding portal and current account terms to confirm the operative figure.

Even if both accounts can be opened with USD 100, that does not make them equally suitable for a USD 100 balance. Maximum leverage may reduce required margin, but it also makes it easier to build an exposure that the account cannot absorb.

Before funding either broker, calculate:

  • The margin needed for the planned position;
  • The loss at the intended stop;
  • The effect of a gap beyond that stop;
  • The free margin left for normal movement;
  • Whether an overnight charge changes the plan.

The minimum deposit is an access condition. It is not a recommendation and should never be used as the risk budget.

FP Markets publishes the larger product shelf

FP Markets currently promotes more than 10,000 instruments across forex, shares, metals, commodities, indices, digital currencies, bonds and ETFs. Its multi-asset page lists more than 70 currency pairs and five major platform routes.

That headline is one of FP Markets' strongest commercial advantages, but it needs two qualifications.

First, not every instrument is necessarily available through every platform or entity. The large share-CFD catalogue can account for much of a broker's total. A forex trader using five currency pairs should not assume that a four-digit instrument count improves the pricing or execution of those five pairs.

Second, product specifications matter more than names. Two brokers may both offer US500 while using different contract sizes, margin rates, trading breaks, dividend adjustments and overnight charges.

Bullwaves provides forex and CFDs across several asset classes through MT5. We do not publish a consistently comparable 10,000-instrument headline. FP Markets is therefore the stronger option for advertised breadth.

The practical check remains symbol by symbol:

  • Exact platform and ticker;
  • Contract size and minimum volume;
  • Spread and commission;
  • Leverage and margin;
  • Trading hours;
  • Financing and corporate actions;
  • Long and short availability.

If FP Markets has a market Bullwaves does not provide, that may settle the decision immediately. If both provide the client's small core watchlist, platform and total cost become more important than catalogue size.

Regulation is a strength for the FP Markets group, but only one entity signs

Bullwaves is the trading name of Equitex Capital Limited, regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under securities dealer licence SD185. ETX Services Limited is described on our site as an independent representative and distributor, not as an authorised European financial entity.

FP Markets has a broader group-level regulatory footprint. Its current regulation page lists:

  • First Prudential Markets Pty Ltd, regulated by ASIC under Australian Financial Services licence 286354;
  • First Prudential Markets Limited, regulated by the Seychelles FSA under licence SD130;
  • FP Markets (Pty) Ltd, regulated by South Africa's FSCA under FSP number 50926;
  • FP Markets Ltd, regulated by the Mauritius FSC under licence GB21026264.

FP Markets also operates a CySEC-regulated company for eligible European clients under licence 371/18, according to its legal pages. Product conditions and protections are not interchangeable across those companies.

This gives FP Markets the stronger group-level licensing story. It does not mean a client registering from any country can choose any group entity. The application flow and client agreement determine the company.

Read the agreement before depositing and record:

  • Full legal company name;
  • Licence number and regulator;
  • Client-money provisions;
  • Negative-balance terms;
  • Complaint and dispute route;
  • Restricted countries;
  • Compensation arrangements, if applicable.

A Cyprus-regulated account, an Australian account and a Seychelles account should not be compared as though their leverage and retail protections were identical.

Withdrawals: separate broker processing from receipt

FP Markets offers bank wire, cards, wallets and selected local or crypto methods, depending on region. Its transaction-fee page says withdrawals must be made to an account in the same name as the trading account. Card deposits are refunded to the card, while profits may be sent to a same-name bank account.

Its Australian FAQ says withdrawal requests are processed within one business day, after which wallets may be close to instant and card or bank receipt can take one to three business days. A separate regional help centre publishes one to five business days for cards and two to five for bank wire. These are not contradictory once entity and payment method are taken into account, but they should not be turned into one universal guarantee.

FP Markets says it generally covers visible acquiring-bank and processor fees on MT4 or MT5 accounts. Independent charges from a bank, card provider, correspondent institution or payment processor can still apply. The company also reserves the right to reverse fee coverage if deposits appear unrelated to trading activity.

At Bullwaves, withdrawal requests are submitted through the portal and reviewed during working hours. Verification or supporting documents may be required. Final arrival depends on the payment provider.

FP Markets publishes more detailed payment rules and, for some entities, a faster internal processing target. Bullwaves clients should judge us on the actual request status and complete payment route rather than an unsupported promise.

For either broker, complete identity checks early, confirm the return-to-source rules and test a modest withdrawal before maintaining a large balance.

Research, automation and social trading

Both brokers support MetaTrader automation, but FP Markets offers more surrounding tools.

Bullwaves MT5 supports Expert Advisors and strategy testing. AI Insights adds sentiment, alerts and macro context, while Social Trading offers an optional copying route.

FP Markets promotes Expert Advisors on MetaTrader, cTrader automation, VPS services, Autochartist, Trading Central, a Traders Toolbox and Social Trading. Availability can vary, and some services may have balance, activity or platform requirements.

Tool count is not the same as usefulness. A trader who depends on Trading Central may value the FP Markets bundle. Someone who wants one research layer alongside MT5 may prefer Bullwaves. An automated trader should test the strategy on the actual broker server because symbol names, spreads, commissions and execution affect results.

Copy trading at either broker can amplify mistakes as efficiently as it copies successful trades. Check provider fees, drawdown, open-position exposure, allocation rules and the ability to disconnect or close positions manually.

Which account belongs on your shortlist?

Start with Bullwaves when:

  • You are committed to MT5;
  • AI Insights and Social Trading match your process;
  • You want fewer platform decisions;
  • Your required markets are available in Bullwaves MT5;
  • The Seychelles-regulated Bullwaves entity is appropriate for your country and needs.

Start with FP Markets when:

  • You need MT4, cTrader, TradingView or an available Iress route;
  • You want the published Raw commission to model costs before registration;
  • A very broad CFD catalogue matters;
  • One of its regional regulated entities is available and preferable;
  • Its research, VPS or automation tools solve a specific requirement.

Run a live comparison when:

  • Both brokers offer the same MT5 symbols;
  • The decision rests mainly on trading cost;
  • You need to evaluate spread behaviour during your own session;
  • Execution, slippage or withdrawal handling matters more than the feature list.

Bullwaves vs FP Markets Platforms and Pricing: which setup fits you?

FP Markets has the broader proposition. It offers more platforms, publishes more instruments and provides a clear Raw-account commission on the regional page reviewed. It also has a wider group-level regulatory footprint. A trader who needs cTrader, TradingView, MT4 or a market unavailable at Bullwaves has a solid reason to choose FP Markets.

Bullwaves is not trying to win that breadth contest. We focus on MT5 and connect it with AI Insights and Social Trading. For an eligible client who already wants that workflow, simplicity can be a feature rather than a compromise.

The comparison is closest when both sides are reduced to MT5 and the same tradable symbols. At that point, ignore the platform count. Compare live spread, full commission, swap, execution and the applicable client agreement.

Our recommendation is to open demos where available and build the same watchlist. Test order entry, mobile management and account reporting. Then calculate a complete round-trip cost with current portal data. The broker that survives that practical test is more relevant than the one with the longest homepage.

Confirm the route available in your country

Before you move money, compare the article against Homepage and platforms, account types, multi-asset range, and Social Trading. These pages should match the entity and account displayed during registration.
