Bullwaves and Exness differ most clearly in account variety, platform choice and the way withdrawals are presented to clients.

The relevant comparison is the route available in the reader's country, including pricing, product access, payment methods and the company named in the agreement.

The comparison below looks at daily platform use, account structure, total trading costs, market access, payments and the legal framework behind each account. The aim is to show where each setup fits, which trade-offs matter and what readers should verify for their own strategy and location.

For traders already using MetaTrader, the decision often comes down to how much platform breadth they need, how costs are presented and whether regional product or payment differences affect day-to-day use. A broker that suits one strategy may be less practical for another, even when both advertise similar headline features.

Why the existing comparison pages are not enough

We therefore rebuilt the comparison around the questions a trader can verify:

  • Which account is actually being compared?
  • Does the platform support the intended strategy?
  • What does "instant withdrawal" measure?
  • Which Exness entity is available in the client's country?
  • Are headline leverage and zero-spread claims subject to conditions?

Platform experience: focus versus a full product family

Bullwaves

At Bullwaves, we built the experience around MetaTrader 5. Clients can use MT5 on desktop, mobile or in a browser. It supports charting, pending orders, Expert Advisors and strategy testing in a familiar MetaTrader environment.

We then add two services around that core. AI Insights provides market context, sentiment, alerts and macro information. Social Trading gives eligible users a way to evaluate and copy other strategies.

This focus is helpful when MT5 is already the final platform choice. It is a limitation when a trader needs MT4 or a broker-built app. Bullwaves does not currently advertise either.

Exness

Exness offers more platform routes:

  • MetaTrader 4
  • MetaTrader 5
  • Exness Terminal in a web browser
  • Exness Trade on mobile

The Exness Terminal and Exness Trade app use the company's own platform infrastructure. Current help material says platform-based accounts are available only in selected regions and are not compatible with MetaTrader. A client who wants Expert Advisors must create an MT4 or MT5 account.

The proprietary platform has genuine usability strengths. Exness Terminal publishes more than 100 indicators, 50 drawing tools, saved layouts, one-click trading and risk controls that can express stops and targets in price, pips, money or equity percentage. The mobile app integrates trading, deposits, withdrawals, alerts, news and live support.

There is an account compatibility detail that old reviews miss. Exness Trade app trading is designed for MT5 or Exness-platform accounts. MT4 account holders are redirected to the MT4 mobile app rather than trading their MT4 account inside Exness Trade.

For platform choice, Exness is the stronger option for platform choice and native account management. Bullwaves is better suited to a trader who wants a concentrated MT5 workflow and values our research and social layer more than another interface.

5 Exness account types need five different comparisons

Exness divides its accounts into Standard and Professional families.

Standard Cent

Standard Cent uses cent lots and is designed for smaller position sizing. The Help Centre publishes spreads from 0.3 pips and no trading commission. Availability and instruments are more limited than on the main Standard account.

Standard

Standard publishes spreads from 0.2 pips and no trading commission. Exness says the minimum initial deposit is determined by country and payment method rather than one universal figure.

Pro

Pro is a professional-style account with spreads from 0.1 pips and no trading commission. Exness describes instant execution for several asset groups and market execution for cryptocurrencies. Minimum deposit is region-based and commonly starts around USD 200.

Raw Spread

Raw Spread publishes spreads from 0.0 pips and commission up to USD 3.50 per lot per side. The actual commission depends on the instrument. Exness charges the opening and closing commission together when the order opens.

Zero

Zero publishes spreads from 0.0 and commission from USD 0.05 per lot per side, depending on the instrument. The official page says zero spread applies to the 30 most-traded instruments for 95 percent of the day, while other available instruments may have zero spread for 50 percent of the day. Spreads can float during news, rollovers and other volatile periods.

That last point matters. "Zero account" does not mean every instrument has a permanent zero spread.

Where Bullwaves fits

Bullwaves publishes Classic, VIP and ECN accounts. The minimum spreads are 1.6, 0.8 and 0.1 pips respectively. For a fair cost test:

  • Compare Bullwaves Classic with Exness Standard;
  • Compare Bullwaves VIP with Exness Pro where eligibility and execution style are suitable;
  • Compare Bullwaves ECN with Exness Raw Spread or Zero.

Do not describe Exness Raw Spread as an ECN account. Exness's own Help Centre answers the question directly: it does not provide ECN accounts.

What a one-lot Raw Spread trade could cost

Assume one standard lot of EUR/USD and a displayed spread of 0.1 pip. That spread is roughly USD 1 for the position.

On an Exness Raw Spread instrument charged at the published maximum of USD 3.50 per lot per side:

  1. Spread component: about USD 1;
  2. Opening commission: USD 3.50;
  3. Closing commission: USD 3.50;
  4. Simplified round trip: about USD 8 before swap and slippage.

This example is not a live Exness quote and does not claim that every instrument uses the maximum commission. The contract specification in the Personal Area controls.

Bullwaves ECN publishes spreads from 0.1 pips. To complete the comparison, the trader must add the current Bullwaves ECN commission shown in the portal. A statement that Bullwaves is commission-free would be unsupported unless the current account schedule expressly says so.

Compare the real account, not the label: Check our current ECN spread and complete cost schedule in the client dashboard. Review Bullwaves Social Trading.

Instant withdrawals: Exness has a real advantage, with limits

Exness makes one of the industry's strongest withdrawal claims. Its app page says more than 98 percent of withdrawals are processed instantly, meaning automatic approval in under one minute. The Terminal page similarly says more than 98 percent are processed automatically.

That is a meaningful Exness strength. It describes the broker's internal processing, however, not the complete journey to the client's card, bank or wallet.

The Exness footnote is important: once funds leave Exness custody, the payment provider determines when the account is credited. A payment can therefore receive instant approval and still arrive later.

Exness also requires withdrawals to follow payment-method rules. Its app guidance says using the same method for deposits and withdrawals is important to prevent rejection. Limits, currencies and estimated times are displayed in the Personal Area and vary by country.

At Bullwaves, withdrawal requests are reviewed during working hours and can require completed KYC and payment-method evidence. After release, the payment provider controls settlement. We do not call that instant.

For a trader who values frequent, automated withdrawals, Exness wins this category on its published process. The correct wording is "instant automatic processing for most requests", not "all funds arrive instantly".

A sensible withdrawal test

With either broker:

  1. Finish identity and payment verification before depositing;
  2. Fund from an account in your own name;
  3. Check whether profits must use a different route from the original deposit;
  4. Request a modest withdrawal early;
  5. Record both approval time and final arrival.

This separates a good broker-side process from delays created by banks, card issuers or wallets.

Leverage and the 0 percent stop-out level

Exness professional pages advertise maximum leverage of 1:Unlimited where eligible. Its accounts also publish a 0 percent stop-out level, and the company promotes Stop Out Protection.

These features need cautious interpretation. Unlimited leverage is conditional and does not make a position safer. It reduces required margin, which can make it easier to open a position that is too large for the balance.

A 0 percent stop-out level does not prevent losses or guarantee that every position remains open until the balance reaches zero. Market gaps, margin changes, high-margin requirements and execution conditions still apply. Stop Out Protection may delay or avoid some stop-outs under the product rules, but it is not insurance against trading loss.

Bullwaves leverage and stop-out conditions depend on account, instrument and entity. The trader should size the position from a planned cash loss, not from the largest position either platform will accept.

Markets and execution claims

Both brokers offer forex and CFDs across metals, energies, indices, shares and cryptocurrencies, subject to entity and platform. Bullwaves also publishes share and ETF CFD access through MT5.

Exness does not rely mainly on a huge instrument-count headline. Its appeal is often the conditions attached to high-volume markets such as major FX, gold and selected crypto CFDs. Contract specifications differ by account. For example, the commission on Zero can vary sharply from one metal to another, while Raw Spread is capped differently.

Exness publishes comparative execution claims such as three times less slippage or three times fewer stop-outs. Its own footnotes say the slippage analysis covered selected instruments and dates, compared Standard accounts with four other brokers, and provides no guarantee of execution speed or precision.

Those footnotes should stay attached to the claim. A trader cannot assume the same result for every symbol, account or market event.

Test:

  • Market and pending orders;
  • Spreads during the session you trade;
  • Slippage around ordinary and volatile periods;
  • Partial closes and bulk order management;
  • Swap or swap-free eligibility;
  • Contract size and high-margin periods.

Regulation: Exness has more entities, but not all serve retail clients

Bullwaves operates through Equitex Capital Limited, authorised and regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under licence SD185. ETX Services Limited acts as an independent representative and distributor and is not presented as an authorised EU investment firm.

Exness lists a wide group structure. The main international website includes:

  • Exness (SC) Ltd, Seychelles FSA licence SD025
  • Exness B.V., Curaçao and Sint Maarten CBCS licence 0003LSI
  • Exness (VG) Ltd, BVI FSC licence SIBA/L/20/1133
  • Forexite Ltd, Belize FSC licence 9110312
  • Local entities regulated in Kenya, South Africa, Jordan and other markets

Exness also lists FCA and CySEC companies. Its regulation page clearly states that the UK and Cyprus companies do not offer trading services to retail clients. A retail comparison must not present those licences as if they governed every Exness account.

For a client onboarded by Exness (SC) Ltd, the relevant direct comparison is Seychelles FSA licence SD025 against Bullwaves licence SD185. For a Kenyan or South African resident using a local Exness company, the comparison changes.

Exness's international entities also list restricted jurisdictions including the United States, Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom, among others. Country eligibility can decide the outcome before spreads or platforms are considered.

Social trading and research

Bullwaves places Social Trading alongside AI Insights as part of the core experience. The value is convenience: an MT5-focused client can use research context, alerts and copying tools within the same brand relationship.

Exness has offered Social Trading services and its legal documents still address strategy following. Availability is regional and should be checked in the Personal Area. Exness's proprietary app also includes Trading Central signals, an economic calendar and market news.

Neither broker's research should be treated as personal advice. A signal can be late, incomplete or unsuitable. A copied trader can change strategy or experience a drawdown. Review:

  • Historic and maximum drawdown;
  • Open positions and unrealised losses;
  • Concentration by symbol;
  • Provider and performance fees;
  • Stop settings and copy-size rules.

4 trader profiles

1. The trader who wants a native mobile account experience

Exness is stronger. The Exness Trade app can manage accounts, deposits, withdrawals, charts, alerts and orders for supported account types. Bullwaves uses MT5 mobile rather than a proprietary Bullwaves app.

2. The trader who specifically wants an ECN account

Bullwaves is the relevant choice between these two. We publish an ECN tier. Exness explicitly says it does not provide ECN accounts, although its Raw Spread pricing may still appeal to the same active-trader audience.

3. The cost-sensitive scalper

Test Bullwaves ECN against Exness Raw Spread and Zero. Use the exact instrument commission, average live spread and slippage. Exness publishes more detailed account mechanics, but the final best option depends on the symbol and execution.

4. The beginner who wants small trade sizes

Exness Standard Cent can be useful where available because cent lots allow finer exposure. Bullwaves Classic may offer a simpler route inside MT5, but the trader should confirm the minimum position and deposit in the live portal.

Bullwaves vs Exness Accounts and Withdrawals: which setup fits you?

Exness is stronger on the breadth of its retail product experience. It offers MT4, MT5, proprietary web and mobile platforms, five account types and a well-documented automated withdrawal system. It also provides more published detail about how individual account models work.

Bullwaves is the more focused option. We centre on MT5, provide an ECN-labelled account and connect the platform to AI Insights and Social Trading. That combination may suit a trader who does not need another interface and wants our specific research and copying environment.

Choose Bullwaves if MT5, an ECN account and our connected tools are the priority. Choose Exness if native apps, MT4, Standard Cent, multiple professional pricing models or automated withdrawal processing matter more and an appropriate Exness retail entity serves your country.

Before funding, verify the account's commission, the contracting company and the withdrawal method in the secure portal. Marketing terms such as "zero", "unlimited" and "instant" all have conditions.

Verify the details that can change

Do not rely on a search-result snippet for a funding decision. Open Exness trading platforms page, Account types, professional accounts, and Exness Trade app. These pages should match the entity and account displayed during registration.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Bullwaves better than Exness?

Bullwaves is better aligned with an MT5-first trader who wants an ECN account, AI Insights and Social Trading. Exness is stronger for platform choice, account variety and automated withdrawal processing.

Does Exness offer an ECN account?

No. Exness's official Help Centre states that it does not provide ECN accounts. It offers Raw Spread and Zero accounts with market execution, which are different product labels and pricing structures.

Are Exness withdrawals really instant?

Exness says more than 98 percent are processed automatically and instantly, generally under one minute. That measures internal approval. The payment provider still controls when the funds reach the client.

Which Exness account is closest to Bullwaves ECN?

Raw Spread is the most direct cost comparison because it combines a raw spread with commission. Zero is also relevant for selected instruments, but its commission varies and zero spread is conditional.

Can European retail clients use Exness?

The main Exness international entities list Europe among restricted jurisdictions, and the FCA and CySEC Exness companies do not serve retail clients. Eligibility must be checked for the client's specific country.
